Quick Bike Crash Restoration via $100 Bike Insurance Deductible
Bike Insurance Customer Story
After signing up with BikeInsure, I submitted this review. One of the two bikes I enrolled was a black Cervelo Aspero, which later got into a bike accident. "I renewed my USA Cycling license and saw that BikeInsure is the official bike insurance provider of USA Cycling. Since I own Specialized and Cervelo bikes, I wanted to explore the insurance options BikeInsure offers. Last year, I had a bicycle hit by a car. I was fine, but my bike damage became a very expensive nightmare. I thought there was insurance... Thanks to USA Cycling's relationship with BikeInsure, I am really happy that my bikes are covered and reasonably priced for my membership discount of $16 bucks a bike monthly, which is far better than the other bike insurance company I looked at."
Bike Accident Claims Experience
"The BikeInsure claims process was fantastic. In July 2024, I was riding my 2021 Cervelo Aspero 4 in South Austin, Texas, when I overcooked a corner and crashed. I was simply on a training ride and crashed my bike, which fortunately had bike insurance with BikeInsure. The bicycle accident cracked the frame's top tube and damaged a wheel, bottom bracket, shift lever, and bar tape. The total damage restoration cost, including new OEM parts, labor, and tax, was $3,449.79. However, I only had to pay a $100 out-of-pocket deductible. It was a relief knowing that BikeInsure covered my Cervelo.
Thanks to my BikeInsure coverage, after my Saturday bike crash, I went to BikeInsure.com, clicked the "Claims" button on the website's home page, and completed the claim form. It took a few minutes to complete the form, where I outlined the details of my accident, submitted photos, and included an estimate from my favorite bike shop. After clicking the submit button, I received confirmation that my claim had been sent to Great American Insurance, which handles BikeInsure claims. On Monday morning, I received a telephone call from the claims administrator, who asked me what bike shop I desired to work with to resolve the accidental bike damage. The speed and efficiency of the process were truly impressive, giving me confidence in BikeInsure's service and reassurance that I was in good hands.
The process took a little time because the bike shop did not have the frame available, but the communication between the insurance company and the bike shop was excellent. Once the bike shop got the frame, they emailed the insurance carrier, and immediately, the insurance company sent the payment. I only had to be on one call with the Great American Insurance Claims Administrator. Everything else was handled directly between the insurance company and the bike shop, providing me with a seamless and hassle-free experience. I was simply kept in the loop with updates, making the entire process comfortable and stress-free.
I'm grateful for the 100% satisfaction I've experienced with BikeInsure. BikeInsure is a separate policy for my bikes, ensuring that any claims made will not impact other insurance policies. This sets BikeInsure apart from home insurers and offers cyclists peace of mind. I highly recommend BikeInsure to all my cycling friends because it worked for me! The claims process was superior to any other insurance engagement I've had or heard others experiencing. As previously mentioned, my claim will never affect any other policy I have, such as my homeowner's insurance policy.
If you own a bike, before you ride again, go to BikeInsure.com and sign up for bike insurance. It sounds too good to be true, but I paid a $100 deductible for over $3,500 in bike damages, and I only needed to be notified when my bike was ready for pickup. Once again, 100% satisfaction!"
